Rebecca has worked with children birth to adolescence for over 40 years, including working as a bilingual SLP for 30 years and as a classroom teacher of preschool through 8th grade. Her experience includes work in a variety of public school and private practice settings in and around Los Angeles County. Rebecca also has experience in the hospital setting and completed a 6-month internship at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles in 1990.
Education:
Rebecca received her Bachelors degree in Linguistics and Psychology from UCLA in 1983. She completed her multiple subjects teaching credential and received her Masters degree in Communication Disorders from Cal State LA in 1990.
During High School Rebecca was an exchange student with AFS and lived a year in Brasil with a Brasilian family. Because of this she is fluent in Portuguese, and very understanding of the challenges of learning a new culture and language. When she first began teaching in 1984, Rebecca worked in South Central LA with Spanish speaking children and so is fluent
in Spanish too.
